No paywalls, no subscriptions!
Yes, you read that right. This site is free and available to anyone. If there’s one thing I hate is when everyone’s site is behind a paywall and to get to the good stuff, you have to pay for a subscription. Don’t we have enough subscriptions? I have subscriptions to so many streaming services, and that’s because if I want to watch a show, I have to subscribe to the service. So, I have a show on each of these services. It’s really annoying and I hate it. I swear that I won’t do that on my site.
You might think that’s a bad idea to not offer any subscriptions to the site. You might even say, “But, Melodía, you’re giving away writing for free! Don’t you want to get every penny that you can?” Yeah, it’s true, I don’t get a lot of sales. Despite writing for a really long time, I’m mostly unknown. That’s mostly because I refuse to “follow the rules” and I refuse to write for the mainstream. No traditional publisher will publish my work. That’s cool. I’ll publish it myself. Is it a pain having to do everything myself? Yes, but it’s a pain well worth it. I can keep my voice intact. No one will neuter it.
